Other common reasons

Urgent concerns

For a patient who is unwell now (for example, acute severe colitis, significant GI bleeding or suspected obstruction), please send them to the nearest emergency department or contact the on-call gastroenterologist through the KHSC switchboard, rather than faxing a routine referral.

For patients

Dr. Squirell can't accept self-referrals. Please ask your family doctor or nurse practitioner to send a referral.

This website can't answer personal medical questions. If you're already a patient, contact the clinic during office hours. In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

While you wait, our patient guides explain common conditions and tests in plain language.

Try “pregnancy”, “Mayo”, “calprotectin” or “VARSITY”.
